Talent Retention
How much of the talent Sarawak educates stays in Sarawak — working, running a business or continuing study — and how that varies by field, sector and nationality.
How many graduates stay in Sarawak after they finish studying?
How retention is measured
A graduate is classified as retained where verified follow-up information indicates they are employed in Sarawak, self-employed or operating a business in Sarawak, or pursuing further study in Sarawak within the selected follow-up period.
Retention rate = graduates retained in Sarawak ÷ graduates with a known destination × 100
Graduates whose destination is unknown are never counted in the denominator, so the rate is always read alongside destination coverage. Switching on “Employment only” excludes further study in Sarawak from the retained group.
